2017 Wedding Trends
If you are getting married this year or planning your big day for 2018, here are our favourite up and coming 2017 wedding trends.
Half Day Weddings
Organising a wedding is a big deal, but you don’t have to commit to a full day event! Why not treat your guests to an informal afternoon tea reception instead of a full-blown wedding breakfast and evening do?
Another way to make your reception less formal and more fun! Your guests have control of what they eat and it makes for a more interactive and enjoyable meal. Choose anything from picnics or pulled pork, paella or pie & mash!
Pantone’s colour of the year for 2017 is Greenery which can be translated so many ways, but we especially love it combined with soft pinks and rose gold for a super romantic style. Other neutrals such as grey and blue can also be incorporated.
The Isle of Man is the perfect place to find a unique setting for your wedding – not only do we have plenty of stunning landscapes for photographic backdrops, but you can apply for a license to hold your wedding ceremony in many of these places too! Visit our guide here to find out more!
Minerals and Metallic
It’s not just Rose gold that is a perfect trend this year, but metallic shades in general that are popping up on invitations, favours, accents and decor. Mix this with marble and agate to really showcase the beauty.
For a really contemporary feel to your day, add geometric shapes to your decor – from your jewellery and invites to your cake and table centres.
With your table space taken up with sharing platters, choose to suspend your decor from the ceiling instead and still have the wow factor when your guests enter the room. This works particularly well in a marquee setting but ask your venue to see what they are able to offer.
