Ben & Becky’s Vintage Navy Blue & Pearl Wedding

Ben & Becky both moved to the Isle of Man over four years ago.  They were friends for a couple of years and then Becky left the Island and moved to London.  They kept in touch and Becky came back to visit a couple of times.  They then really hit it off and began communicating a lot more via email until they finally became a couple in May 2010.

They had a long distance relationship for a while and then in October 2010 when Becky was visiting the Island, Ben set up some balloons and bunting by Glen Maye waterfall and proposed!  They had a romantic picnic on Peel Hill and then dinner at The King & I in Douglas to celebrate.

Becky is a real planner and enjoyed most of the planning from the biggest to the smallest details.  She particularly enjoyed collaborating with Finishing Touches to dress the room of St Ninian’s Parish Centre with a stunning navy blue, vintage and pearl theme.

They both enjoyed the cake tasting with the Individual Cake Company (who wouldn’t?!) and Ben got really involved with the creative side of the planning, including designing the invitations, order of service, rugby themed table names etc all with a similar damask motif.

Becky’s most memorable moments of the day included driving to the church with her Dad in a fancy vintage car and the whole church ceremony as she felt so relaxed. They had fun trying to cut the cake without a proper knife, then the newly-weds had some precious time together after the ceremony and during the photo shoot with just the photographer.

Ben’s most memorable moments of the day included the wedding service, the speeches and the lovely meal!

You can tell just from these beautiful photographs that Becky and Ben put so much thought into their day with all the personal and handmade details, but with just enough help from the professionals to ensure they were relaxed enough to enjoy their big day!

Enjoy the rest of the photographs below, and a huge thank you to the new Mr & Mrs Dalglish and their photographer Vicky Harrop for sharing this wedding with us.  See the bottom of the post for the rest of the supplier credits too!
